Job Summary

geoConvergence is seeking a Technical Lead to lead and guide our multidisciplinary teams across GIS, ArcGIS Indoors, digital twins, CAD/BIM, LiDAR, cloud infrastructure, and application development.

In this role, you will serve as the primary technical escalation point, helping delivery teams overcome blockers, align on best practices, and execute high‑quality solutions for our clients.

You will work closely with project managers, leadership, engineers, analysts, and field teams to design system architectures, translate requirements into actionable technical plans, and oversee the successful implementation of complex geospatial and digital twin solutions.

This includes supporting end‑to‑end “Scan‑to‑Twin” workflows, architecting ArcGIS Enterprise and cloud deployments, optimizing integrations with third‑party systems, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality outputs across all project teams.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving hard technical problems, mentoring others, and shaping the direction of evolving technologies such as indoor mapping, automation, AI/ML‑assisted extraction, and digital twin workflows.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy collaborating across teams, and are passionate about technical leadership and innovation, we want to hear from you.

  • Translate between technical and non-technical team members (developers, analysts, field staff, PMs, executives).

Solution & System Architecture

  • Design solution and system architectures for new and existing projects, including:
    • ArcGIS Enterprise/Online deployments
    • Digital twin / ArcGIS Indoors solutions
    • Integrations with third-party systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Cityworks, Business Central, FCA/CAI systems).
  • Work with CEO and PMs to turn client requirements into concrete technical designs, diagrams, and implementation plans.
  • Participate in client-facing solution discussions and presentations as a technical SME.

Cloud & Infrastructure Support

  • Highly experienced in implementing, delivering and managing:
    • ArcGIS Enterprise deployments in AWS and on-prem
    • CloudFormation templates, automation, and infrastructure-as-code
    • Linux/Windows administration and environment configuration.
  • Diagnose issues in ArcGIS Server/Portal/Data Store using logs, metrics, and best practices.

Project Technical Ownership

  • Partner with the technical PM to:
    • Break high-level scopes into detailed, actionable technical tasks.
    • Flesh out task descriptions, acceptance criteria, and technical approaches in ClickUp.
  • Provide technical QA/QC on deliverables (maps, data models, apps, integrations, automations).
  • Assist with troubleshooting and performance tuning (e.g., slow map layers, data loading, workflows, enterprise deployments).

Indoor Mapping & Digital Twin Support

  • Understand the full “Scan-to-Twin” workflow:
    • LiDAR/field data collection
    • CAD/BIM processing
    • Indoors information modeling and floor-aware GIS
    • Asset extraction from point clouds (point cloud exploitation, ML-based feature extraction).
  • Lead the Indoors/digital twin team with:
    • Data models, workflows, and standards
    • Integrations between Indoors and work order / asset / space systems
    • Technical review of deliverables to ensure consistency and quality.

Integrations, Automation & Efficiency

  • Design and oversee integrations between ArcGIS and external systems (e.g., Business Central, ServiceNow, SAP-like systems, work order systems).
  • Identify repetitive, manual processes and:
    • Design and prototype automations (Python, RPA, integration platforms, scripts, etc.).
    • Hand off prototypes to development or analyst teams to productionize.
  • Drive continuous improvement in internal workflows and project delivery efficiency.

Mentoring & Skill Development

  • Mentor team members (analysts, admins, developers) in:
    • GIS best practices
    • Indoor/digital twin concepts
    • Cloud/GIS operations
    • Automation and scripting approaches.
  • Help shape technical hiring needs and participate in technical interviews.

Innovation & R&D

  • Contribute to R&D initiatives (e.g., robotics-based LiDAR collection, point cloud-to-BIM/Indoors automations, ML/AI-assisted extraction).
  • Evaluate “build vs. buy” options for internal tools and client solutions, including quick-win partnerships.
  • Prototype new ideas and hand off to teams for scaling when appropriate.

Governance, Process, and Reporting

  • Ensure time tracking, ClickUp (PMIS) task updates, and technical documentation are kept current.
  • Help define and enforce technical standards, coding conventions, data models, and quality benchmarks across projects.
