Graphic Design & UI/UX Intern

Position Responsibilities

UI/UX Design – Website Redesign Project

  • Design wireframes, mockups, and user interface layouts for website redesign project
  • Create website design system including components, typography, and color standards
  • Develop user-friendly navigation and information architecture
  • Design responsive layouts optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Collaborate with Website Developer Intern to implement designs
  • Ensure design consistency across all digital touchpoints

Marketing Graphics & Visual Content

  • Create social media graphics for LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, and ESRI Community platforms
  • Design email graphics and templates for marketing campaigns
  • Develop infographics and visual assets for blog posts and content marketing
  • Create slide decks and presentation templates for sales and marketing teams
  • Design one-pagers and marketing collateral
  • Produce video thumbnails and graphics for video content

Conference Materials & Print Design

  • Design conference booth graphics and trade show materials
  • Develop print materials including flyers, banners, and promotional items
  • Create branded templates for various marketing applications
  • Design event-specific promotional collateral

Brand Consistency & Design Systems

  • Maintain brand consistency across all visual materials
  • Develop and document design standards and guidelines
  • Create reusable templates for recurring design needs
  • Support visual communication of technical GIS concepts
  • Design approval and management review process for all deliverables

Qualifications

Required

  • Portfolio demonstrating both graphic design AND UI/UX design work
  • Strong visual design skills (typography, color theory, layout, composition)
  • Proficiency in design tools (flexibility based on portfolio quality)
  • Understanding of web design best practices and responsive design principles
  • Experience with user interface and user experience design fundamentals
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear visual communications
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

Preferred:

  • Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar UI/UX tools
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Motion graphics or video editing capabilities
  • Knowledge of design systems and component libraries
  • Experience designing for B2B or technical industries
  • Print design and production experience
  • Familiarity with presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides)
